QA Process Engineer – Steelmaking and Casting Description:

• Monitor the operating and metallurgical practices for steelmaking, casting and refining processes.
• Participate in modifying existing and developing new steelmaking / casting practices.
• Develop and administer incoming supplier raw material sampling and auditing.
• Perform quality system audits for both internal departments and suppliers.

Safety Supervisor

Description:

Manage all aspects of Safety and Health for a large department in a heavy industrial
manufacturing plant.

• Work with line management to ensure that all employees follow approved Safety and Health
  practices.
• Facilitate/conduct weekly safety meetings for all employees.
• Participated in the development of safety and health management programs.
• Conduct safety audits, at least daily, and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
• Investigate all incidents in conjunction with line managers and union personnel.

Qualifications:

BS in Safety or a related field and 3-5 years of industrial experience.  Experience in a heavy manufacturing
industrial plant is key.

Mechanical Engineer – Project Engineering and Equipment Design

Description:

In this position you will contribute to the successful maintenance and upgrade of arolling mill operation similar to that of an aluminum or steel rolling mill.

• Equipment design of large rotating equipment, drives, hydraulics, gears and other production equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes, and work on continuous improvement projects.
• Manage capital improvement and maintenance projects.

Qualifications:

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of heavy industry engineering experience.  Preferred experience in a steel or aluminum (or other) rolling mill process plant is a plus.

Process Improvement Specialist

Description:

Reporting to the Unit Manager of Process Improvement for a modern steel mill, this position focuses on EAF Steel Making Technology.

• Provide rigorous analysis and direction to solve complex issues that arise in the EAF  steelmaking area.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, prioritize the opportunities, and then drive these ideas to completion.
• Write reports on study results attained and present results and recommendations to upper management.
• Provide guidance to other Process Improvement Engineers
• Leverage resources inside and outside of the melt shop to accomplish operating and process
  improvement goals.
• Become the recognized technical expert in EAF steelmaking technology.

Qualifications:

BS Materials Science or a related discipline and 10+ years of experience in  steelmaking.
This position requires very strong analytical skills.

Steel Casting and Refining Supervisor

Description:

• Supervise casting, refining and degassing processes.
• Achieve department productivity, cost, quality and safety goals.
• Assure correct chemistries and temperatures.
• Monitor the speed of the caster, melt shop production, chemistries, cast rolls, blooms, bloom lengths.
• Perform line-up changes

Qualifications:

Supervisor experience involving steel casting and refining.  A BS or Associate’s degree in
engineering or metallurgy is preferred.  Experience may substitute for formal education.

Division Manager – Primary Operations Description:In this position you will be responsible for the overall performance of an EAF steelmaking operation including steelmaking, continuous casting and refining.

• Direct and manage the staff.  Determine staffing levels and direct hiring of salaried and hourly personnel.
• Prepare and implement the Business Plan.  Develop operating schedule to meet sales forecast.  Work closely with managers to ensure that goals are realized.
• Develop and manage the budget.
• Assure adherence to the labor/management agreement.
• Assure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations.
• Work closely with Metallurgical staff to assure product quality.  Maintain total quality management system.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and application of new technology.
• Provide leadership, integrating activities of various plant departments.
• Serve as a member of the Corporate Leadership Team.

Qualifications: BS Degree in an Engineering field;  expert knowledge of EAF, Refining and Continuous Casting technologies; department level experience managing operations and maintenance; experience with budgeting and P&L at a department level

Description:

These positions are in a large, metals industry, industrial process plant. The positions support all plant processes including chemical processing, electrolytic refining, smelting and casting. There is an emphasis on large rotating equipment and process piping.

• One position is a Senior Maintenance Engineer and will provide Engineering solutions to maintenance problems throughout the plant.
• The second position is a Senior Project Engineer and will work on major capital improvement projects.
• You will become the technical expert in the area of Mechanical Engineering for process equipment.
• The plant is unionized and has approximately 450 employees.

Qualifications:

BS in Mechanical Engineering and 8-15 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in a heavy manufacturing, industrial process plant.
